Greetings Class,
Our Math today is going to be on Personal Finance. You will each be given a career with your job description and how much you make.
What you have to do is find the following information.
1. You are currenlty out of a job, find a place that will give you one in Portland, Oregon (prefer the West Side of Portland if that's what you want.)
2. List what are the requirements/Qualifications for that job.
Type of College Degree
Years of Experience
Physical Demands
Travel required,
Type of hours worked
Resume?
References (What are references? Talk with your parents about this. Ask them if it is important to have references.)
And any other requirement they ask for:
3. Please answer the following questions to the best of your ability. Answer with at least full sentences.
Explain why job is secure?
Explain if my job is full time or seasonal?
Who will be my boss or who will manage me?
What type of work environment will I be working in?
With the hours of my Job can I watch my Children's Basketball games?
Will both my wife and I have to work in order to support our family? Please Explain.
How long do I plan on staying at my current job?
4. For questions 1 and 2 please use the following websites to search for job opening in our Area. You should find a job with one of these websites below.
Please note: don't sign up for any service and do not fillout any personal information on any of these websites. Beware of strong advertising that is how these websites make extra money.
www.jobdango.com
www.monster.com
www.portlandjobfinder.com
www.oregonlive.com/jobs/
5. Once you have found a job that you think you want to "apply" for copy all the information into a Gmail document. Make sure you Answer all of the questions above before submitting it to me online. I believe this is going to be a really fun assignment, please make sure you ask either myself or your parents if you need a little extra help with anything. There are going to be some big words you might not understand, please make sure you use a dictionary to find out what they mean.
Happy Hunting,
Mr. G
